Children are treated at the Marcy R. Horvitz Pediatric Emergency Center at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. As the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center in Cleveland, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is equipped to handle the most serious emergencies involving children. Pediatric treatment rooms are large enough to accommodate family members and are clustered around a central nurse station to maximize interaction and communication between staff and families.

Training in Emergency Services

UH Cleveland Medical Center, in conjunction with the UH EMS Institute, is the region's leader in training and emergency care protocol development. Our emergency staff works closely with the region’s EMS providers. ER physicians provide medical direction for over 30 EMS squads. Due to our strong collaboration with the EMS community we have been able to enhance our ability to provide life-saving care.
